How to live BEAUTIFULLY (Like a NY ARtisT) on the CHEAP! (a manual for tough times)
Most people know only what their TV tells them. They are told to consume, consume, consume and richer is better.
The difference between artists and other people is that TIME is the most valuable commodity to the artist. Time spent getting money to buy crap is time wasted. Time spent composing a poem or a song or a dance or carving a piece of wood is the most beautiful precious thing in life.
Time gets stolen by attempting to earn money, by becoming a wage slave, or by using valuable brain power in get rich quick schemes.
Most rich people are emotionally crippled, because they only worship money, and the goods money can buy. How can you worship a pocketbook, a car? They invest in companies selling questionable products, like drug companies selling medicines that give people strokes or heart attacks, or arms manufacturers that make money by selling weapons to people who murder others.
We must question, why do we want money? Do we want more clothes? You can only wear one suit at a time. Do you want another house? You can only sleep in one bed at a time. Do you need a newer car? Why? Does the old one work? Do you need a new car to attract women who kow tow to money also, and perhaps will overlook your small dick? Or your unattractive face? Are you looking for a sex partner who will overlook your crippled character, who allows you to lie, cheat and steal in the service of getting more money?
If the answer is no, and you are happy with your looks, your clothes, your car and so forth, you are on the way to learning how to live like an artist.
Now it is time to shake off the hypnosis of the media. If you have had advertisements slammed at you from TV, radio, print ads and the internet, you probably have been hypnotised. Christians say this phenomenon is created by Lucifer, the prince of the air, who mesmerizes people. Certainly the Bridezillas and the Housewives of Orange County are slaves to Satan, using this construct, because they are worshipping Mannam, and not God. Those poor slobby chicks who are trying to have sex with some dumb washed up rock n roller or hip hop artist, competing with other slobby chicks for that privilege, in hopes of landing a cushy crib and unlimited cash flow, are the stuff of network TV. These morons aren't looking to build a village in Liberia, or learning how to become nurses so that they'll have a way to support themselves when their boyfriend du jour winds up in the slammer. These people can't tell you if a third is bigger than a fourth.
Anyway, artists don't live like that. You don't have to either. If you want more time with your family, or want to spend more time meeting other people who are NOT your family, you'll want to give up an addiction to security and chasing money. You'll have to learn how to live like an artist.
